Nature Journaling with Watercolor

September 20 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Class limit is 14 people. RSVPs REQUIRED to info@jdcf.org.

Masters of nature journaling like Darwin, Thoreau and Lewis & Clark used visual expression along with words to convey in rich detail the natural world.  This class is a starting point for learning the basic skills needed for visual expression. In the classroom, you will practice techniques of drawing in black and white along with the use of color with watercolors. There is an optional noon to 1 pm BYO lunch, and from 1 pm to 3:30 pm, an optional afternoon workshop on the preserve’s prairie to practice observation and drawing skills. Here is a short video from last year’s class.
