Buehler Preserve

For the public’s safety, Buehler will be closed Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 4-7 during deer firearm season.

Thanks to the generosity of former Galena Mayor, Robert Buehler, and his 1999 land donation, the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation owns this 25-acre property.

The Galena River Trail, a favorite of bikers, hikers, and dog-walkers, extends from the Meeker Street footbridge into the preserve. JDCF maintains a mowed trail around its perimeter. Camping is not permitted.
