Our souls are so busy that we forget to connect to what grounds us… The Forest. Forest therapy, or shinrin-yoku (Japanese for “forest bathing”), is a guided, research-based practice of immersing yourself in nature. It involves slowing down, unplugging from technology, and engaging all your senses to absorb the restorative atmosphere of a natural environment, promoting profound mental and physical health benefits:
- Reduce Stress: Lower cortisol levels, decrease pulse rate, and reduce blood pressure.
- Boost Immunity: Inhale beneficial natural oils (phytoncides) released by trees, which are shown to boost the body’s immune system.
- Improve Mental Health: Alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, and fatigue.
- Enhance Focus: Improve attention, cognitive function, and mood.
Please bring a yoga mat or blanket.
