Spring Wildflower Walk

Join JDCF education staff and knowledgeable local plant enthusiast, Jim Johannsen, to take in the spring wonders at JDCF’s lesser known Rutherford Refuge Nature Preserve, bracketed by Clear Creek. In addition to other wildflowers in this restored prairie and oak savanna, this oasis of nature features fields of Shooting Stars, a native Illinois spring ephemeral found throughout the state in prairies, woods, and bluffs.
