Prairie Blooms ~ A Walk at Wapello

JDCF was Live today at the Wapello Land & Water Reserve to learn about some of the prairie plants in bloom from Friends of Wapello member, Michele Brueggen. The 180-acre preserve is home to one of the most impressive prairie restorations in the State of Illinois, 80 acres of which are filled with a variety of plants that will be in bloom from now until their peak in late July. It is a site to behold and we are sure that after watching this virtual walk, you will head on out to Wapello to see the prairie in person! The Wapello Reserve is located at 8642 IL RT 84 South, Hanover, IL and is open daily from dawn to dusk, free of charge to the public. Dogs on leashes are welcome. This event was generously sponsored by the First Community Bank of Galena/Apple River State Bank.
