New Trail Connection at Casper Bluff!

In conjunction with the extension of the Galena River Trail (GRT), JDCF has opened up a walking trail on an old road bed that leads from the base of the GRT to the top of Casper Bluff! Hikers and bikers can now add to their experience along the trail with a detour up to Casper to visit the Native American mounds, hike through the restored prairie, and take in the amazing view of the Mississippi River. Future plans call for a bike rack to be placed at the bottom of the trail courtesy of Galena’s Go Out & Tour Somewhere (G.O.A.T.S) Bike Club as biking is not permitted on the reserve.
