JDCF was Live from the Hurstzville Interpretive Center in Jackson County, Iowa this week where we were joined by special guest, Naturalist Tony Vorwald, for a program all about herpetology!
Herping is the act of searching for amphibians and reptiles. This is an observe but don’t disturb activity. Habitat preferences range from dry sand prairies to swampy bottomlands. Studying herptiles is a great way to spend your day outdoors. Tune in to see live turtles, salamanders, and snakes up close. All of the turtles, snakes, and amphibians featured in the event are native to our area. You could find them in your own backyard!
We thank the Apple River State Bank/First Community Bank of Galena for their sponsorship of this event.
