Have you ever wondered what a personal tour of the Wapello Land and Water Reserve might be like? Well, wonder no more and join the Friends of Wapello for an afternoon walk through the prairie in full bloom. One of the most impressive short-grass prairie restorations in the state, an expert guide will introduce us to the variety of native plants and wildflowers found there. We will meet under the new pavilion near the parking lot. The event is free and RSVP’s are not required.
Did you know that the Friends of Wapello is a volunteer organization created to promote, develop, and interpret the natural and archaeological resources of the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation’s Wapello Land & Water Reserve for this and future generations? To find out more, please join them at their monthly planning meetings the first Tuesday of the month at the Hanover Township Park District building at 6 PM.
