Have you ever wondered what a guided tour of Horseshoe Mound Preserve would be like? Well, wonder no more because we have brought back our popular walking tours with JDCF Education and Outreach Manager, Jess Hepker. Participants will get the inside scoop on geologic features that can be seen from the top of the mound and tour the many points of interest found at the preserve. You will also have a chance to see and ask questions about the restoration work being done on the western slope of the mound that is visible from Highway 20. The walk will take place along mowed trails over rolling terrain. We will meet in the parking lot at the top of the lane. A suggested donation of $10/person for non-members of JDCF is welcome to help with costs of maintaining the preserve. We thank the Apple River State Bank/First Community Bank of Galena for sponsoring this event.
